Jardiance 25mg Tablet contains Empagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. By selectively inhibiting SGLT2 in the proximal renal tubules, Empagliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption and increases urinary glucose excretion, thereby lowering plasma glucose levels. Jardiance 25mg is prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing HbA1c levels, promoting weight loss, and providing cardiovascular benefits, including reduced risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in patients with established cardiovascular disease. The recommended dose is 10mg once daily, which may be increased to 25mg based on therapeutic response and tolerability. Jardiance is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe renal impairment (eGFR <30 mL/min/1.73 m²), and hypersensitivity to Empagliflozin or any excipients.
