Ivabid OD 10 Tablet contains Ivabradine 10 mg, a selective If channel inhibitor used primarily for the management of chronic stable angina pectoris and heart failure. Ivabradine acts by specifically inhibiting the pacemaker current (If) in the sinoatrial node, leading to a reduction in heart rate without affecting myocardial contractility or intracardiac conduction. This mechanism helps to decrease myocardial oxygen demand, thereby alleviating angina symptoms and improving exercise tolerance. Ivabid OD 10 is indicated for patients with stable angina who are in sinus rhythm with a resting heart rate of at least 70 beats per minute and who are either intolerant to or inadequately controlled by beta-blockers. Additionally, it is used in patients with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) to reduce the risk of hospitalization for worsening heart failure. The once-daily formulation enhances patient compliance. Common adverse effects include bradycardia, luminous phenomena (phosphenes), and headache. Ivabid OD 10 should be used with caution in patients with conduction abnormalities, hypotension, or severe hepatic impairment. It is contraindicated in patients with acute decompensated heart failure, sick sinus syndrome, or pacemaker dependence. Dose adjustments may be necessary based on clinical response and tolerability.
