Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, is effective against anaerobic protozoa and bacteria through DNA strand breakage and inhibition of nucleic acid synthesis. Itraconazole, a triazole antifungal agent, impedes ergosterol synthesis, disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity and function. Clobetasol propionate, a potent corticosteroid, provides anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects, reducing erythema, edema, and discomfort associated with dermatological conditions. The synergistic combination targets polymicrobial infections and associated inflammation, promoting rapid symptom relief and lesion resolution. Itonik-OZ Cream is indicated for dermatophytosis, candidiasis, bacterial superinfections, and protozoal skin infections where inflammation is prominent.
