Itchmont-LC Tablet is a combination medication containing Levocetirizine 5mg and Montelukast 10mg, formulated for the effective management of allergic conditions. Levocetirizine, a third-generation non-sedating antihistamine, selectively inhibits peripheral H1 histamine receptors, thereby alleviating symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, and pruritus associated with allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, blocks the cysteinyl leukotriene D4 receptor in the respiratory tract, reducing inflammation, bronchoconstriction, and mucus secretion, making it beneficial in the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis. The synergistic action of these agents provides comprehensive relief from both immediate and delayed allergic responses, improving patient quality of life. Itchmont-LC is indicated for patients requiring combined antihistaminic and leukotriene receptor antagonist therapy, particularly in cases where monotherapy is insufficient.
