Insuvil-DP 100/10 Tablet SR is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Dapagliflozin 10 mg and Vildagliptin 100 mg, designed for sustained release to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin, a selective sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, reduces renal glucose reabsorption, promoting urinary glucose excretion and thereby lowering blood glucose levels. Vildagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, enhances the incretin system by preventing the degradation of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), resulting in increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. The combined mechanism addresses hyperglycemia through complementary pathways, improving fasting and postprandial glucose control. Insuvil-DP 100/10 SR is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled by either agent alone or other antidiabetic therapies.
