Insupod 100 DT Tablet contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil 100mg, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic effective against a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. It is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and uncomplicated gonorrhea caused by susceptible strains of bacteria. Cefpodoxime Proxetil acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. The tablet is designed as a dispersible form to facilitate ease of administration, particularly in patients with swallowing difficulties. Insupod 100 DT is well absorbed orally and achieves therapeutic concentrations in various tissues and fluids. It is generally well tolerated; however, common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal discomfort. Hypersensitivity reactions, including rash and anaphylaxis, though rare, require immediate medical attention. Caution is advised in patients with a history of penicillin or cephalosporin allergy. Dosage adjustments may be necessary in patients with renal impairment.
