About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Insfate-O Oral Suspension is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Sucralfate 1000 mg and Oxetacaine 20 mg per 10 ml, indicated for the management of gastrointestinal mucosal lesions and associated pain. Sucralfate acts as a cytoprotective agent by forming a viscous, adhesive barrier over ulcerated or eroded mucosa, thereby protecting the tissue from acid, pepsin, and bile salts, which facilitates mucosal healing. Oxetacaine, a local anesthetic, provides rapid symptomatic relief by numbing the mucosal surface, reducing pain and discomfort associated with esophageal and gastric ulcers, gastritis, and reflux esophagitis. Insfate-O Oral Suspension is particularly useful in conditions such as peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and other acid-related disorders where mucosal protection and analgesia are required. The oral suspension form ensures ease of administration and rapid onset of action. It is generally well tolerated; however, use should be cautious in patients with renal impairment due to the aluminum content in sucralfate. Insfate-O should be administered on an empty stomach, typically one hour before meals and at bedtime, to maximize mucosal adherence and therapeutic efficacy. As with all medications, adherence to prescribed dosage and consultation with a healthcare professional is essential to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.
