About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Insapraz-LSR Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Levosulpiride 75 mg and Esomeprazole 40 mg, indicated for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional dyspepsia, and other acid-related gastrointestinal disorders. Levosulpiride, a selective dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, facilitates gastric motility and enhances esophageal sphincter tone, thereby improving gastric emptying and reducing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and bloating. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, providing effective relief from acid-related mucosal damage and promoting healing of erosive esophagitis. The synergistic action of these two agents addresses both motility dysfunction and acid hypersecretion, offering comprehensive symptom control. Insapraz-LSR is typically administered orally once daily before meals, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response and tolerability. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment, and it is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to either component. Common adverse effects may include headache, dizziness, and mild gastrointestinal disturbances. This combination therapy should be used under medical supervision to optimize therapeutic outcomes and minimize potential risks.
