About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Inapure ER 10 Tablet contains Ivabradine 10 mg, a selective sinus node inhibitor used primarily for the treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris and chronic heart failure. Ivabradine acts by specifically inhibiting the If current in the sinoatrial node, leading to a reduction in heart rate without affecting myocardial contractility or intracardiac conduction. This heart rate reduction decreases myocardial oxygen demand, thereby alleviating angina symptoms and improving exercise tolerance. Inapure ER 10 is indicated for patients with stable angina who are in sinus rhythm with a resting heart rate of at least 70 beats per minute and who are either intolerant to beta-blockers or require additional heart rate control. It is also prescribed for patients with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) who remain symptomatic despite optimal standard therapy, including beta-blockers. The extended-release formulation ensures a steady plasma concentration, enhancing therapeutic efficacy and patient compliance. Common adverse effects may include bradycardia, luminous phenomena (phosphenes), and headache. Ivabradine should be used cautiously in patients with conduction abnormalities, atrial fibrillation, or severe hepatic impairment. Regular monitoring of heart rate and rhythm is recommended during therapy to optimize dosing and ensure safety.
