Imidac 500 Injection is a sterile, injectable formulation containing Imipenem 500 mg and Cilastatin 500 mg, indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. Imipenem is a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic effective against a wide range of Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and anaerobic bacteria. Cilastatin is a renal dehydropeptidase inhibitor that prevents the degradation of Imipenem in the kidneys, thereby enhancing its efficacy and prolonging its half-life. This combination is particularly useful in treating complicated intra-abdominal infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, and septicemia.
