Hygina Gargle Solution contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.2% w/v, a broad-spectrum antiseptic agent effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as certain fungi. It is indicated for the prevention and treatment of oral infections, including gingivitis, periodontitis, and stomatitis. The solution acts by disrupting the bacterial cell membrane, leading to cell death and thereby reducing microbial load in the oral cavity. Hygina Gargle Solution is intended for topical use as an adjunct to oral hygiene measures such as brushing and flossing. It is particularly beneficial in patients with compromised oral hygiene, post-dental surgery, or those prone to recurrent oral infections. The recommended dosage is to gargle with 10-15 ml of the solution for 30 seconds to 1 minute twice daily, followed by expectoration; it should not be swallowed. Prolonged use may cause tooth staining, altered taste sensation, or mucosal irritation, which are generally reversible upon discontinuation. Caution is advised in patients with hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine or any component of the formulation. Hygina Gargle Solution should be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
