Oraflora LA Gel is a topical analgesic formulation containing Choline Salicylate 8.7% w/w and Lidocaine 2% w/w, designed for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with oral mucosal conditions. Choline Salicylate, a salicylate derivative, exerts anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis at the site of application. Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, provides rapid onset of analgesia through reversible blockade of sodium channels, preventing nerve impulse propagation. The combination of these active ingredients offers both immediate pain relief and sustained anti-inflammatory action, making Oraflora LA Gel suitable for symptomatic treatment of aphthous ulcers, denture irritation, minor oral mucosal injuries, and other inflammatory oral lesions. The gel base facilitates adherence to mucosal surfaces, ensuring prolonged contact and efficacy. Oraflora LA Gel is indicated for adult and pediatric patients requiring topical analgesia and anti-inflammatory treatment in the oral cavity. It should be applied sparingly to the affected area, avoiding ingestion. Caution is advised in patients with hypersensitivity to salicylates or local anesthetics.
