Huminsulin 50/50 Suspension for Injection 40IU/ml is a premixed insulin formulation containing 50% Insulin Isophane (NPH) and 50% Human Insulin, designed for the management of diabetes mellitus requiring insulin therapy. This biphasic insulin suspension combines intermediate-acting Insulin Isophane, which provides prolonged glycemic control, with rapid-acting Human Insulin to address postprandial glucose excursions. Huminsulin 50/50 is indicated for adult and pediatric patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and oral hypoglycemic agents alone do not achieve adequate glycemic control. The insulin suspension is administered subcutaneously, with dosage individualized based on patient’s metabolic needs, blood glucose monitoring, and glycemic goals. Onset of action typically occurs within 30 minutes, with peak effects observed between 2 to 12 hours, and duration lasting up to 24 hours.
