Sacubitril is a neprilysin inhibitor that enhances the effects of natriuretic peptides, promoting vasodilation, natriuresis, and diuresis, thereby reducing cardiac workload and improving cardiac function. Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that inhibits the vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, leading to decreased blood pressure and reduced strain on the heart. The synergistic action of these agents helps to decrease the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization due to heart failure.
