Healodress Ointment is a topical pharmaceutical formulation combining Povidone Iodine (5% w/w), Tinidazole (1% w/w), and Sucralfate (7% w/w) designed for the effective management of infected wounds and ulcers. Povidone Iodine acts as a broad-spectrum antiseptic, providing rapid antimicrobial activity against bacteria, fungi, and viruses, thereby reducing microbial load and preventing infection. Tinidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, offers potent antiprotozoal and antibacterial effects, particularly against anaerobic pathogens commonly implicated in wound infections. Sucralfate serves as a cytoprotective agent, promoting mucosal healing by forming a protective barrier over the wound surface, enhancing tissue regeneration and reducing inflammation. The synergistic combination in Healodress Ointment facilitates accelerated wound healing while minimizing the risk of secondary infections. It is indicated for the treatment of infected traumatic wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure sores, and other chronic non-healing ulcers.
