Goldclav-DS Oral Suspension is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 400 mg and Clavulanic Acid 57 mg per dose, designed to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin derivative, exerts bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Clavulanic Acid acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing enzymatic degradation of Amoxycillin and thereby extending its antimicrobial spectrum. This synergistic combination is effective against beta-lactamase producing strains of bacteria responsible for respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections. Goldclav-DS Oral Suspension is particularly useful in pediatric and adult patients who require an oral antibiotic with enhanced efficacy against resistant pathogens.
