GM SR2 Forte Tablet contains a combination of Glimepiride 2mg and Metformin 1000mg, formulated to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. Glimepiride, a sulfonylurea class agent, stimulates pancreatic beta cells to increase insulin secretion, thereby reducing blood glucose levels. Metformin, a biguanide, primarily decreases hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity, enhancing glucose uptake by muscle tissues.
