Esogress IT 40mg/150mg Capsule is a combination medication containing Esomeprazole 40mg and Itopride 150mg, indicated for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional dyspepsia, and other upper gastrointestinal motility disorders. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, acts by selectively inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing gastric acid secretion and promoting mucosal healing. Itopride, a prokinetic agent, enhances gastrointestinal motility by antagonizing dopamine D2 receptors and inhibiting acetylcholinesterase activity, facilitating gastric emptying and improving symptoms such as bloating, nausea, and early satiety. The synergistic action of these agents provides effective relief from acid-related symptoms and motility disturbances.
