Esogress-D Capsule SR is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Domperidone 30mg and Esomeprazole 40mg, designed for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and related upper gastrointestinal disorders. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, facilitates gastric motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby reducing symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and bloating. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, providing effective relief from acid-related mucosal damage and promoting ulcer healing. The sustained-release (SR) formulation ensures prolonged therapeutic plasma concentrations, enhancing patient compliance through reduced dosing frequency.
