ES-Omedom-DSR Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Domperidone 30mg and Esomeprazole 40mg, designed for the effective management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dyspepsia, and related upper gastrointestinal disorders. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, enhances gastrointestinal motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby reducing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and bloating. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), selectively inhibits the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cells, leading to profound suppression of gastric acid secretion. The synergistic action of these two agents provides both symptomatic relief and addresses the underlying acid-related mucosal damage. ES-Omedom-DSR is indicated for patients requiring acid suppression combined with prokinetic therapy, especially in conditions where delayed gastric emptying exacerbates acid reflux symptoms. It is generally well tolerated; however, caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component, significant hepatic impairment, or underlying cardiac conditions due to Domperidone’s potential QT prolongation risk. Administration should follow medical advice, typically taken before meals to maximize efficacy.
