About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Erytop A Gel is a topical formulation containing Adapalene 0.1% w/w and Clindamycin 1% w/w, indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Adapalene, a third-generation retinoid, exerts comedolytic and anti-inflammatory effects by modulating cellular differentiation and keratinization, thereby preventing the formation of microcomedones. Clindamycin, a lincosamide antibiotic, inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, effectively reducing Propionibacterium acnes colonization and subsequent inflammation. The combination of these active ingredients provides a dual mechanism targeting both the inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions of acne. Erytop A Gel is applied once daily to the affected areas, preferably in the evening, after cleansing the skin. Patients should avoid excessive sun exposure and use sunscreen during treatment, as Adapalene may increase photosensitivity. Common adverse effects include mild to moderate skin irritation, dryness, redness, and peeling, which typically diminish with continued use. Erytop A Gel is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to Adapalene, Clindamycin, or any component of the formulation. Caution is advised during pregnancy and lactation. This combination therapy offers an effective option for managing mild to moderate acne by addressing both bacterial proliferation and abnormal keratinization.
