About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Entimate Tablet contains Entecavir 0.5 mg, a potent antiviral agent indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in adults with evidence of active viral replication and either persistent elevations in serum aminotransferases or histologically active disease. Entecavir is a nucleoside analogue that inhibits HBV DNA polymerase, thereby suppressing viral replication and reducing viral load. It is effective in both nucleoside-naïve and lamivudine-resistant HBV strains. The recommended dosage is one tablet daily, taken orally on an empty stomach to optimize absorption. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Entimate Tablet significantly improves liver function tests, reduces HBV DNA levels, and can lead to histological improvement in liver tissue. Patients undergoing treatment should be monitored regularly for virologic response and potential adverse effects, which may include headache, fatigue, dizziness, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, and dose adjustments may be necessary. Long-term therapy may be required to maintain viral suppression and prevent disease progression, including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Entimate Tablet should be prescribed and administered under strict medical supervision with appropriate laboratory monitoring.
