Zyrova 40 Tablet contains Rosuvastatin 40mg, a potent lipid-lowering agent belonging to the statin class of medications. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia to reduce elevated total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B, and triglycerides, while increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Rosuvastatin acts by selectively inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, thereby decreasing cholesterol production in the liver and enhancing the clearance of LDL particles from the bloodstream. Zyrova 40 is prescribed to patients at high risk of cardiovascular events, including those with a history of coronary artery disease, stroke, or peripheral arterial disease, as part of a comprehensive management plan involving diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications.
