Zomidol-P Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Aceclofenac 100 mg and Paracetamol 325 mg. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation and pain. Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, provides analgesic and antipyretic effects primarily through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. The synergistic action of these two agents makes Zomidol-P effective in the management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, dental pain, and postoperative pain. It is indicated for patients requiring both anti-inflammatory and analgesic therapy. Zomidol-P is generally well tolerated; however, it should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, hepatic or renal impairment, and cardiovascular disorders. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, and rarely hypersensitivity reactions. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to aceclofenac, paracetamol, or other NSAIDs. Dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on clinical response and patient tolerance, and it is recommended to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to minimize potential risks.
