About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Zoderm E Cream contains Oxiconazole 1% w/w, an imidazole antifungal agent indicated for the treatment of superficial fungal infections of the skin, including dermatophytosis, candidiasis, and pityriasis versicolor. Oxiconazole exerts its antifungal effect by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and ultimately fungal cell death. Zoderm E Cream is effective against a broad spectrum of dermatophytes, yeasts, and some molds. It is applied topically to the affected area once or twice daily, depending on the severity and type of infection, and treatment duration typically ranges from 2 to 4 weeks. The cream base facilitates good skin penetration and maintains local drug concentration. Zoderm E Cream is generally well tolerated; however, mild local reactions such as burning, itching, or irritation may occur. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Oxiconazole or any component of the formulation. Caution is advised when applying to large areas or broken skin. Zoderm E Cream should be used under medical supervision, and patients are advised to complete the full course of therapy to prevent recurrence and resistance. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes during application.
