Zinodap M 10mg/500mg Tablet ER is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Dapagliflozin 10mg and Metformin 500mg extended-release. It is indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, particularly in patients inadequately controlled on diet and exercise alone or as an adjunct to other antidiabetic agents. Dapagliflozin, a selective sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, reduces renal glucose reabsorption, promoting glucosuria and thereby lowering plasma glucose levels. Metformin, a biguanide, primarily decreases hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity, contributing to enhanced glycemic control. The extended-release formulation ensures a gradual release of metformin, improving gastrointestinal tolerability and patient compliance.
