Zilos-AM Tablet contains a combination of Losartan 50mg and Amlodipine 5mg, indicated for the management of hypertension and related cardiovascular conditions. Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that works by blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby promoting vasodilation and reducing aldosterone secretion, which leads to decreased blood pressure and reduced strain on the heart. Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, inhibits the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle cells, resulting in peripheral arterial vasodilation and decreased systemic vascular resistance. The synergistic effect of these two agents provides effective blood pressure control, improving patient compliance by reducing pill burden. Zilos-AM is particularly beneficial in patients who require dual antihypertensive therapy or those inadequately controlled on monotherapy.
