Luliconazole exhibits broad-spectrum antifungal activity against dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting membrane integrity and leading to fungal cell death. Zetacon-L Cream is primarily used in the management of dermatophytosis, including tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and tinea pedis, as well as candidal infections of the skin. The cream formulation allows for effective penetration into the stratum corneum, ensuring targeted action at the site of infection. It is generally well tolerated, with minimal adverse effects; occasional mild local reactions such as burning, itching, or erythema may occur. The recommended dosage involves once-daily application to the affected area for a duration typically ranging from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the severity and type of infection. Patients should be advised to apply the cream to clean, dry skin and to continue treatment for the prescribed period even if symptoms improve earlier to prevent recurrence.
