Zerodol-MR Tablet is a combination analgesic formulation containing Aceclofenac 100 mg and Tizanidine 2 mg, designed for the management of musculoskeletal pain and spasticity. Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for inflammation, pain, and fever. Tizanidine, a centrally acting muscle relaxant, functions as an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist that decreases spasticity by inhibiting presynaptic motor neurons, providing relief from muscle stiffness and spasms. The synergistic action of these two agents makes Zerodol-MR effective in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other musculoskeletal disorders accompanied by pain and muscle spasm. It is recommended to be taken orally with food to minimize gastrointestinal irritation. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic, renal, or cardiovascular impairment, and it should be avoided in individuals with known hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or muscle relaxants.
