Zaclo-G Cream is a topical formulation containing Clobetasol propionate (0.05% w/w), a potent corticosteroid, combined with Gentamicin sulfate (0.1% w/w), an aminoglycoside antibiotic. This combination is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory dermatoses complicated by or at risk of secondary bacterial infections. Clobetasol exerts strong anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by modulating the immune response and reducing the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby alleviating symptoms such as redness, swelling, and itching. Gentamicin provides broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against susceptible Gram-negative and some Gram-positive organisms by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, helping to prevent or treat secondary infections in compromised skin. Zaclo-G Cream is typically applied in a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily, depending on clinical severity and physician recommendation. Use should be limited to short-term therapy due to the risk of corticosteroid-related adverse effects, including skin atrophy, telangiectasia, and potential systemic absorption. It is contraindicated in viral, fungal, or mycobacterial skin infections unless combined antibiotic therapy is warranted.
