Yogatel-H 40 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Telmisartan 40 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes sodium and water excretion by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, contributing to decreased plasma volume and peripheral resistance. The synergistic effect of these agents provides effective management of hypertension, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction. Yogatel-H 40 is indicated for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.
