Xylovis-P Nasal Drops contain Xylometazoline 0.05% w/v, a topical nasal decongestant indicated for the relief of nasal congestion associated with allergic rhinitis, common cold, sinusitis, and other upper respiratory tract conditions. Xylometazoline acts as a selective alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist, producing vasoconstriction of the nasal mucosa blood vessels, thereby reducing swelling and facilitating improved nasal airflow. The onset of action is rapid, typically within minutes, providing prompt symptomatic relief. Xylovis-P is intended for short-term use only, generally not exceeding 3 to 5 consecutive days, to avoid the risk of rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa). It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to xylometazoline or any component of the formulation. Caution is advised in individuals with hypertension, cardiovascular disease, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, or glaucoma. The drops should be administered as directed, usually 1-2 drops in each nostril up to three times daily. Prolonged or excessive use may lead to mucosal irritation or dryness. If symptoms persist beyond one week or worsen, medical consultation is recommended. Xylovis-P Nasal Drops are for intranasal use only and should be kept out of reach of children.
