About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Xtnac-MR Tablet is a combination medication containing Thiocolchicoside (4mg), Aceclofenac (100mg), and Paracetamol (325mg), formulated to provide effective relief from musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. Thiocolchicoside acts as a muscle relaxant by selectively inhibiting gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and glycine receptors, thereby reducing muscle spasms and stiffness. Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), leading to decreased prostaglandin synthesis. Paracetamol contributes additional analgesic and antipyretic properties through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. This combination is particularly beneficial in managing acute musculoskeletal conditions such as strains, sprains, low back pain, and osteoarthritis, where pain, inflammation, and muscle spasm coexist. Xtnac-MR Tablet should be used under medical supervision, considering contraindications such as hypersensitivity to any component, active peptic ulcer, severe hepatic or renal impairment, and caution in patients with cardiovascular risk factors. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, or allergic reactions. The dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on clinical response and patient tolerance to optimize therapeutic outcomes while minimizing potential risks.
