Xoten A 20 Capsule contains a combination of Rosuvastatin 20 mg and Aspirin 75 mg, formulated to manage cardiovascular risks in patients with hyperlipidemia and a history of cardiovascular events. Rosuvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, effectively lowers low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and total cholesterol by inhibiting the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, thereby reducing the risk of atherosclerosis and related complications. Aspirin, an antiplatelet agent, irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), leading to decreased thromboxane A2 production and prevention of platelet aggregation, which reduces the risk of thrombotic events such as myocardial infarction and stroke.
