Wintil Suspension contains Albendazole 200 mg, an anthelmintic agent used for the treatment of a variety of parasitic worm infestations. Albendazole acts by inhibiting the polymerization of tubulin into microtubules, thereby disrupting essential cellular processes in helminths, leading to their immobilization and eventual death. Wintil Suspension is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by intestinal parasites such as roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides), hookworms (Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus), whipworms (Trichuris trichiura), and tapeworms (Taenia species). It is also effective against other tissue parasites including cysticercosis and hydatid disease. The suspension formulation allows for ease of administration in pediatric patients or individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets. Dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the type and severity of the infection, with consideration of patient age and weight. Wintil Suspension is generally well tolerated; however, potential adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, and transient elevations in liver enzymes. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Albendazole and should be used cautiously during pregnancy. Monitoring liver function and blood counts during prolonged therapy is recommended to ensure patient safety.
