Nortriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, enhances noradrenergic and serotonergic neurotransmission by inhibiting the reuptake of these neurotransmitters, contributing to its analgesic and mood-stabilizing effects. The synergistic action of these two active ingredients provides effective relief from neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and other neuropathic disorders.
