WE-Sita D Tablet is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Dapagliflozin 10 mg and Sitagliptin 100 mg, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, reduces renal glucose reabsorption, promoting glycosuria and thereby lowering plasma glucose levels. Sitagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, enhances incretin hormone activity, resulting in increased insulin secretion and decreased glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. The synergistic action of these agents improves glycemic control by targeting complementary pathways involved in glucose homeostasis. WE-Sita D Tablet is prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults inadequately controlled on monotherapy or combination therapy.
