Oxybuta Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Diclofenac 50 mg and Paracetamol 500 mg. Diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for inflammation, pain, and fever. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) provides analgesic and antipyretic effects primarily through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. This synergistic combination is indicated for the management of mild to moderate pain associated with musculoskeletal disorders, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, dental pain, postoperative pain, and primary dysmenorrhea. Oxybuta Tablet offers effective relief by targeting both peripheral inflammation and central pain pathways. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, hepatic or renal impairment, and cardiovascular disease. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, dizziness, and allergic reactions. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to diclofenac, paracetamol, or other NSAIDs, and in those with severe hepatic or renal dysfunction. Dosage and duration should be individualized based on clinical response and patient tolerance, and concomitant use with other NSAIDs or hepatotoxic drugs should be avoided to minimize risk of adverse effects.
