Oxalgin-DP Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Diclofenac 50 mg and Paracetamol 325 mg. Diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) provides analgesic and antipyretic effects through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, complementing the peripheral action of diclofenac. This dual mechanism offers effective relief from mild to moderate pain associated with conditions such as musculoskeletal disorders, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, dental pain, postoperative pain, and dysmenorrhea. Oxalgin-DP is indicated for patients requiring both anti-inflammatory and analgesic therapy, providing rapid onset of pain relief with reduced gastrointestinal side effects compared to higher doses of diclofenac alone.
