About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Osmolube-DS Eye Drop contains Carboxymethylcellulose 1% w/v, a viscous, water-soluble polymer used as a lubricant and artificial tear agent. It is indicated for the relief of dry, irritated eyes caused by environmental factors, reduced tear production, or prolonged exposure to digital screens. Carboxymethylcellulose acts by stabilizing the tear film and providing prolonged ocular surface hydration, thereby reducing discomfort, burning, and foreign body sensation. Osmolube-DS Eye Drop is suitable for patients with keratoconjunctivitis sicca and other conditions associated with tear deficiency or excessive tear evaporation. The formulation is preservative-free, minimizing the risk of ocular irritation or hypersensitivity reactions, making it appropriate for frequent use and in patients with sensitive eyes or contact lens wearers. The recommended dosage is one to two drops instilled into the affected eye(s) as needed, up to four times daily or as directed by a healthcare professional. Patients should avoid contamination of the dropper tip and adhere to proper hygiene to prevent secondary infections. Osmolube-DS Eye Drop is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to Carboxymethylcellulose or any other component of the formulation. Consult an ophthalmologist if symptoms persist or worsen after prolonged use.
