Opinac-Plus Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Diclofenac 50 mg and Paracetamol 325 mg. Diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. Paracetamol, an analgesic and antipyretic agent, acts centrally to alleviate pain and reduce fever, though its exact mechanism is not fully understood. The synergistic action of these two agents provides effective relief from mild to moderate pain associated with conditions such as musculoskeletal disorders, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, dental pain, postoperative pain, and dysmenorrhea. Opinac-Plus is indicated for short-term use to manage acute pain and inflammation. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding disorders, hepatic or renal impairment, and cardiovascular disease. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, dizziness, and hypersensitivity reactions. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diclofenac, paracetamol, or other NSAIDs, and in those with severe hepatic or renal impairment. Dosage should be individualized based on clinical response and tolerability, and it is recommended to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to minimize potential side effects.
