Olmin Trio Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Olmesartan Medoxomil 20mg, Cilnidipine 10mg, and Chlorthalidone 12.5mg. Olmesartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, leading to vasodilation and reduction of blood pressure. Cilnidipine, a calcium channel blocker of the dihydropyridine class, exerts its antihypertensive effect by inhibiting L-type and N-type calcium channels, resulting in decreased peripheral vascular resistance and sympathetic nerve activity. Chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic, promotes natriuresis and diuresis by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules, thereby reducing plasma volume and peripheral resistance. The combination of these three agents provides complementary mechanisms to achieve effective blood pressure control in patients with essential hypertension, particularly those inadequately controlled by monotherapy. Olmin Trio Tablet is indicated for the management of hypertension to reduce the risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. It should be used under medical supervision with monitoring of renal function, electrolytes, and blood pressure. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to any component, severe renal impairment, and certain electrolyte imbalances.
