Olmetrack H 40 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg and Olmesartan Medoxomil 40 mg. This formulation is primarily indicated for the management of hypertension, aiming to achieve optimal blood pressure control and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction. Olmesartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, leading to vasodilation, decreased aldosterone secretion, and reduced sodium retention. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes diuresis by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule of the nephron, thereby reducing plasma volume and peripheral vascular resistance. The synergistic action of these agents provides enhanced antihypertensive efficacy compared to monotherapy. Olmetrack H 40 is generally well-tolerated; however, monitoring of electrolytes, renal function, and blood pressure is recommended during therapy. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component, anuria, or severe renal impairment. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic dysfunction or gout.
