Olmeblu-H 20 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Olmesartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, leading to vasodilation and reduced secretion of aldosterone, thereby lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes sodium and water excretion by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, contributing to decreased plasma volume and peripheral vascular resistance. The synergistic action of these two agents effectively manages hypertension, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction. Olmeblu-H 20 is indicated for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy. It is important to monitor electrolyte levels, renal function, and blood pressure regularly during treatment. Caution is advised in patients with impaired renal or hepatic function, electrolyte imbalances, or a history of hypersensitivity to sulfonamides. Common adverse effects may include dizziness, hypotension, hyperkalemia, and electrolyte disturbances.
