Nuforce 200 Tablet contains Fluconazole 200 mg, an antifungal agent belonging to the triazole class, used primarily for the treatment and prevention of a variety of fungal infections. Fluconazole works by inhibiting the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme 14α-demethylase, which is essential for converting lanosterol to ergosterol, a critical component of the fungal cell membrane. Disruption of ergosterol synthesis leads to increased membrane permeability and ultimately fungal cell death. Nuforce 200 is indicated for the treatment of oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis, systemic candidiasis, cryptococcal meningitis, and certain dermatophytic infections. It is also employed prophylactically in immunocompromised patients to prevent fungal infections. The tablet is administered orally, with dosage and duration depending on the type and severity of infection, as well as patient-specific factors such as renal function.
