Montal 10mg Tablet is a prescription medication containing montelukast 10mg, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, indicated for the treatment of perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis, chronic asthma, and acute asthma exacerbations. It works by inhibiting the action of leukotriene D4, a chemical mediator of inflammation, thereby reducing bronchospasm, airway constriction, and inflammation. In patients with allergic rhinitis, Montal 10mg Tablet has been shown to reduce nasal congestion, runny nose, and itchy eyes. In asthmatic patients, it has been demonstrated to improve lung function, reduce frequency and severity of exacerbations, and require fewer oral corticosteroids. The medication is available in tablet form and should be taken once daily, at the same time each day. It is recommended for patients two years of age and older. The most common side effects include headache, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Montal 10mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to montelukast or any component of the tablet.
