Modlip 5 Tablet is a prescription-only medication containing Atorvastatin 5mg as the active ingredient. This medication is indicated for the treatment of hyperlipidemia, a condition characterized by elevated levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, high triglycerides, and apolipoprotein B. Atorvastatin, a selective and potent inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, inhibits the conversion of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) to mevalonate, thereby decreasing the production of LDL cholesterol. Modlip 5 Tablet is available in a once-daily dosage form, allowing for consistent and effective cholesterol management. The medication may also be used in combination with other treatments for the management of mixed dyslipidemia, including high triglycerides and low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol. As with all statins, Modlip 5 Tablet may cause liver enzyme elevation, muscle weakness, and other adverse reactions.
