Mirabet S 25mg/5mg Tablet ER is a once-daily extended-release formulation combining the potassium-channel opener mirabegron (25mg) and the antimuscarinic agent solifenacin (5mg). This combination therapy is indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with overactive bladder (OAB), including urge incontinence, frequency, and nocturia. Mirabegron, a beta-3 adrenoceptor agonist, relaxes the smooth muscle in the bladder wall, increasing the capacity and reducing the pressure, thereby alleviating symptoms. Solifenacin, a muscarinic receptor antagonist, inhibits the contraction of the detrusor muscle, further reducing symptoms. The extended-release formulation of this combination allows for sustained release of both active ingredients, providing consistent and effective treatment throughout the day. The recommended dose is one tablet once daily, with or without food. Mirabet S 25mg/5mg Tablet ER is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component, and caution is advised in patients with urinary retention, bladder outlet obstruction, or severe kidney or liver impairment.
