About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Minilip 40mg Tablet is a prescription-only medication indicated for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia, including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, and mixed dyslipidemia. This once-daily tablet contains Atorvastatin, a statin that inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, thereby reducing the production of cholesterol. Minilip 40mg Tablet is also indicated as an adjunct to diet to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events, including heart attack, stroke, revascularization, and hospitalization for angina in patients with clinically evident coronary artery disease, as well as in patients with atrial fibrillation and a history of coronary artery disease or stroke. The tablet is administered orally and can be taken with or without food. The recommended starting dose is 10-20mg, and the maximum dose is 40mg, with the dose titration dependent on the patient's response to therapy. Minilip 40mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Atorvastatin or any of its excipients, as well as in patients with active liver disease or liver function test abnormalities.
