About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Minesse Tablet is a hormonal contraceptive product containing Ethinyl Estradiol (15mcg) and Gestodene (60mcg) as its active ingredients. This once-daily tablet is indicated for the prevention of pregnancy in women of childbearing potential. The product works by suppressing ovulation and thickening the cervical mucus, making it difficult for sperm to reach the egg. The estrogen component, Ethinyl Estradiol, also helps to prevent endometrial hyperplasia and cervical dysplasia. Gestodene, the progestogen component, helps to regulate the uterine bleeding and reduce the risk of breast tenderness. The product is available in a blister pack of 28 tablets, with 21 active tablets and 7 inert tablets. Minesse Tablet should be taken daily, at the same time, and with a meal or immediately after. The product is contraindicated in women with a history of thromboembolic disorders, undiagnosed abnormal uterine bleeding, and liver dysfunction. As with all hormonal contraceptive products, Minesse Tablet carries a risk of serious side effects, including venous and arterial thromboembolism, as well as liver-related events.
